APRS and Packet Radio Information
I have been very active in packet radio since 1984 and have run
many different types of NODES / Digi's since that time. In the 80's
and early 90's my Node near Hutchinson, Kansas was the main packet node in
Kansas providing connections the central hub for Kansas and Oklahoma.
Today I maintain two Automatic Packet Reporting System (APRS) digi's one near Wichita, Kansas
and the second in Southlake near DFW International Airport.
Both digi's provide key elements in extending range and access by other amateur
radio operators. Both APRS Digi's are running mobile radios rated at
50 watts with KPC3 TNC controllers.
The following links will give you information on APRS and
some equipment I recommend using.
